I actually have access to a computer for a second day in a row. Amazing, I know.

Let me impart to y’all the wonders of dating in Seattle.

Last night the woman I have been hanging out with showed up sloshed as shit to the open mic night I play with a dude that looked like Bob Ross on smack. Then she acted all wierded out that I was there. This includes such brilliant quotes as “You should have told me you would be here” … at the open mic I play every week… and invite everyone who exists to. FML.

I know how to pick ‘em.

So right now I live in near poverty in a one bedroom apartment with two other guys. One lives in the unfinished basement and the other sleeps on the couch. I have the bedroom.

In all honesty I love it. Yeah, it’s cold, the bathroom is covered in toxic mold that is impossible to get rid of, and the landlord is more of a slumlord, but I love it all the same. There’s a certain joy in poverty.

We make up our own games. These often involve change and dirty socks (not of the man-dirty variety) and/or Nerf guns. Sometimes we play with peanuts.

When our power was shut off for a week we had a “Fuck Edison and Franklin” party. We drank warm beer and only had candles for light and warmth. Best party ever.

I don’t miss television, the internet, or being in the loop. All being in the loop every gave me was misery in the human condition. I am more a part of the West Seattle community now than I have ever been.

I do hope to start blogging again, just for the practice of writing, but if that doesn’t happen, I won’t miss it. Have a great time, internet. I know I am.

I will most likely be re-joining the land of tumblr fairly soon, as I am getting close to finishing the recording of my EP, Galapagos. I’ll try and put up some of the rough recordings sooner than later, and after that it’s mixing and mastering. Might even be able to make the October 25th deadline I set for myself. Nothing says “Happy Birthday, self” like a finished EP. More on this later. Peace out, internet.
